Home Batteries

You don’t need to be an energy expert.

Aivy plans your home battery’s charging and discharging around your tariff, your household’s power use and your backup reserve. Built on forecasting and operating experience gained at power stations.

Have a go. I’ll explain each choice.

An assistant that speaks up first.

Most days, Aivy works quietly in the background. When something needs your attention, it explains what has changed and what to do next.

Your inverter reported an alert. Your manufacturer’s guide lists it as informational, so nothing is needed today. If it repeats, I’ll pass it to their support team with the log.

Your reserve was set to 100%, so the battery didn’t supply your home last night. Change it back to 40%?

It learns your home.

Aivy’s AI learns your home’s pattern of use, morning to night, and keeps refining the plan around your tariff and the weather. When something’s different, just say so.

  • Stores your solar instead of selling it cheaply to the grid, then uses it in the evening.
  • Reads the weather and your tariff a day ahead.

We’re away for a week from Saturday.

Got it. I’ll keep your reserve topped up and stop planning around dinner time until you’re back.

Mum’s staying with us next month.

Lovely. I’ll learn the new routine as it happens, and keep a bit more for the evenings.

You stay in charge.

You set the limits. Aivy runs the battery inside them. Big changes wait for your OK.

You choose your backup.

40% reserve

Set how much stays in the battery for outages. Aivy doesn’t touch this reserve for everyday savings or VPP events.

Keep your electricity retailer.

Current retailer

Aivy works with your plan as it is. If a retailer’s VPP plan suits you later, you can join it through Aivy.

It asks before changing a limit.

Lower your backup reserve to 20% for summer?

YesKeep 40%

Aivy adjusts the day-to-day schedule within your agreed limits. Changes to your backup reserve or operating limits need your approval.

Questions you might have

Which batteries are supported?

Supported models from multiple leading brands, confirmed by model. Tell us your brand and model and we’ll check. You don’t need an installer to set it up: Aivy’s in-app assistant walks you through connecting.

Does Aivy cost anything?

The Aivy app is free for battery owners.

Will Aivy affect my battery warranty?

Aivy connects through your battery brand’s own cloud, using the manufacturer’s own communication protocol, so it can only do what the manufacturer allows. The battery’s own protections always come first. Warranty terms are set by your battery brand, so check with them if you’re unsure.

Do I need to change electricity retailer?

No. Aivy works with the plan you already have.

Is using Aivy the same as joining a VPP?

No. Aivy helps you use your own battery well. If you want to join a VPP, you can connect through Aivy to a retailer’s VPP plan or service. Some VPP plans come with a particular retailer, and we’ll tell you before you choose.

I’m on a flat rate. Does Aivy still help?

Usually, yes. Storing your solar for the evening means buying less power from the grid. Whether that beats exporting depends on your import price, your feed-in credit, battery losses and running costs; with today’s low feed-in tariffs, it usually does. Once Aivy has learned your habits, the app also estimates how much a time-of-use plan could save you, using your own home’s numbers.

What happens in a blackout?

If your system is set up for backup, your reserve keeps the essentials running. Not every system is; your installer or battery brand can tell you what yours does.

Who do I call about a fault?

Start with the battery retailer or installer who supplied your system, or the manufacturer’s support team, as your warranty arrangements direct. Aivy doesn’t do hardware repairs, but it watches for issues and tells you, in plain words, what to tell them.

What happens to my data?

Aivy uses your battery and energy data to run your plan and spot problems early. We don’t sell your personal information. Our privacy policy explains exactly what we collect and why, and how to see or delete it.

Where do you work?

Across the National Electricity Market: Queensland, New South Wales, the ACT, Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania.

Let your battery do the thinking.
